The other day I picked up two lipsticks. I bought the MAC lipstick from a blog sale as I really liked the shade and it's a safe colour that I can wear daily. Without swatching it or testing the MAC lipstick out when it arrived, I went to Boots and picked up a few things one of which was the Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in the shade 03 which I'd also had my eye on. When I got home and tested them both out I was surprised to see that's they're not actually much different in colour.
The Lipsticks
As you can see the MAC lipstick is slightly more darker and thicker than the Rimmel London lipstick. The MAC lipstick is also more drying than the Rimmel London lipstick which tends to moisturise rather than dry. To me the lipsticks look very similar when applied and there's only a slight difference in colour between the two. Overall I think this is a great dupe considering the Rimmel London lipstick is £5.49 and the MAC lipstick is £13.50.

ReplyDeleteI love this! I have both lipsticks and never knew this. 03 is a lot thinner in texture which is nice for the winter season when you don't want a heavy product on and 03 is also more moisturising so will be carry that instead of cherish from now on xx
