Review: Purity Organic Skincare Range

A few weeks ago I was sent some products from the Purity Organic Skincare range. I'd never heard of them before so I was eager to try out the products and see what they were like as I was intrigued by the concept of the company and the concept behind their products.

About: Purity Organic Skincare is an award winning British brand, conceived and created to bring intelligent, sustainable and organic beauty to each and every one of us. Purity Organic Skincare is Ecocert certified with 98% of the ingredients of natural origin and a minimum of 70% of the ingredients processed from organic farming. Purity Organic Skincare is free from parabens, GM, silicones, SLS and synthetic fragrances. The packaging is fully recyclable and the range is not tested on animals.

Purity Organic Skincare Facial Wash 150ml £4.99* - A blend of softening, moisture retaining and condition Sweet Almond Oil, Aloe Vera and Glycerine is combined within a gentle Coconut and sugar-base foam to cleanse, soothe and protect skin. Added Citric Acid controls skin PH levels.

I was a bit unsure at first as to whether this would effectively cleanse my skin but I was pleasantly surprised. Despite the lack of SLS in the cleanser it does have some later to it. It cleanses my skin well and I feel that it would be suitable for those with a normal to combination skin and those with sensitive skin as well.

Purity Organic Skincare Conditioning Cleansing Lotion 150ml £4.99* - An effective skin conditioning cleanser with a blend of clever ingredients which effectively break down and gently remove the day's grime and make-up. Special ingredients combine with the softening, moisture retaining and conditioning Sweet Almond Oil, Aloe Vera and Glycerine base: Oats condition and restore, Amino Acids help skin to absorb moisture, Avocado Oil conditions the skin and the Euphrasia and Rose Water tones the skin.

At first I just put this on a cotton wool round and used it to remove my face make up but after seeing Lisa Eldridge's video using the cleansing lotion (click here) I decided to try the method she used and I have to say it works wonder. Basically you apply a generous coat over your face and then remove with a cotton wool round and keep repeating until there is no trace of make up left. It removes make up easily and leaves my skin feeling soft.

Purity Organic Skincare Facial Exfoliator 100ml £5.99* - A deep pore cleanser using rounded, ground, coconut shell to exfoliate within a blend of softening, moisturising retaining and conditioning Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Glycerine and Aloe Vera to leave your skin cleaner, softer and brighter.

This has to be one of my favourite products from the range. I love the consistency of it and the fact it's not too harsh on my skin. It's gentle enough to be used either once a day or a few times a week depending on your preference.

Purity Organic Skincare Overnight Moisturiser 50ml £7.99* - A deep, repairing and healing cream. Sweet Almond Oil, Beeswax and Aloe Vera soften and protect the skin. Ceramide 3 reinforces the moisture barrier of the skin and improves the long term moisturisation, protecting against sustained daytime environmental damage. Added Vitamin E improves the skin's health, leaving it restore, regenerated and ready to face another day.

The texture of this isn't what I expected. It's more a like a body butter for your face. When I first applied it, the cream seemed a bit tacky but after it's sunk in it makes my face feel smooth and doesn't make it feel oily or sticky at all.

Purity Organic Skincare Anti-Aging Moisturiser 50ml £7.99* - A powerful moisturiser to improve and protect the skin, rich in Cranberry Seed Oil with Omega 3, 6 and 9 the essential fatty acids your skin needs to help prevent ageing. Also contains Rosehip Seed Oil, renowned for its powerful skin-conditioning and restorative properties and Vitamin E as a protecting antioxidant. Ceramide 3 limits the loss of water from the skin and Rose Flower Water acts as a skin toner. These hard-working ingredients are blended in Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Beeswax and Aloe Vera and combine to boost the skin's own functions and help prevent premature aging.

Like the moisturiser the cream has a consistency which is a bit like a body butter but for your face. I didn't really notice any results in the anti-aging department as I'm only young so I can't really comment on that but I do like the softness it gives once the cream has sunk in.

Purity Organic Skincare Anti-Aging Serum & Mask 50ml £8.99
* - A powerful treatment to boost your skin's natural regeneration process. Sweet Almond Oil and Aloe Vera combine with Cranberry Seed Oil, rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9 help repair the skin and antioxidant Vitamin E improves and protects the look and feel of the skin.

I only managed to use this once. I applied a thin layer all over my face and left it on overnight. I expected it to break my skin out because of the consistency of it but it didn't. I woke up with smoother skin and my skin felt really refreshed.

Final Thoughts: I think the range is very reasonably priced for what it offers and I haven't seen anything else similar in Boots, Superdrug, ect. The packaging is simple and I love the fact the ingredients are clearly labelled and easy to read. One thing I would love to see in the range is an eye make up remover as it would really complete the range (plus it would be a huge bonus to have an eye make up remover with minimal, organic ingredients so easily available).

What do you think of the range?

  1. Asalamu alaikum sis!
I tried one of the moisturiser's in a tub last year but once i used it, after a while i thought it smelt a bit odd. Did you find that?? I'm not sure if it's because its natural ingredients but to me it smelt a bit sour i guess? It was just strange and i want to use it but i'm not too sure now and just have it in my bathroom cabinet. : / I applied it with my hands so i think i may just use a cotton wool pad because it didn't make my skin go bad, it was just the smell which made me question it! : )

    1. Walaikum assalaam :)

I haven't found any sour smell to it tbh. I have used other organic products which did have a sour kind of smell to them & they didn't cause any bad reaction when I used them. I think it's just because of the ingredients used that over time they can cause that kinda scent. As long as it doesn't make your skin react badly then I see no harm in using it :)

  2. I don't think I've noticed this brand in Superdrug before but it looks like one worth trying. Perhaps the facial exfoliator as you say it's not harsh on the skin. I like that it has coconut in it too! :) x
