Review: Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadows (+ Swatches)

I'm sure everyone has heard of the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow. Hailed as the drugstore version of MAC paint pots there are seven shades to choose from here in the UK (in the US there are ten shades to choose from). The shades available in the UK are Eternal Gold, Turquoise Forever, On & On Bronze, Permanent Taupe, Endless Purple and Eternal Silver.

Each eyeshadow comes in a glass pot with a black lid which has the same name and colour on. When one of my arrived in the post it had a few chips in the glass so it's not that travel friendly. The texture of the eyeshadows are smooth but not squidgy. They're easy to apply with either your finger or a brush and they dry pretty quickly.

Eternal Gold, Turquoise Forever, On & On Bronze and Permanent Taupe

I managed to pick up four shades: Eternal Gold which is a shimmery golden colour with a mix of yellow shimmer to it; Turquoise Forever which is a turquoise blue shade with a silver shimmer to it; On And On Bronze which is a metallic browny bronze shade and Permanent Taupe which is a light brown grey shade.

The eyeshadows stay put and don't crease although I haven't tested them out for 24 hours they do last a good few hours. They're perfect for when I'm in a rush as I can just swipe the colour over my lid using my finger and I'm ready to go. I do think maybe they should of released a few more safer colour options such as some lighter colours as the colours may be a bit full on for some. I'd like to see some pastel shades such as light blue, light pink and lilac.

What do you think of the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows?

  2. I reviewed all of these except the teal shade (I had the charcoal colour instead) when they first came out in the States. The only one I kept was the bronze one and now it's starting to dry out :( xx

  3. Great review. I wanted to pick up the Turquoise Forever but was not sure if I would ever wear the colour. The on and on bronze looks so good against your skin colour

  8. I only have the purple and the taupe but I love it, they do crease on me but last a few hours before I have to fix them up. I'd love to have some paler shades too so I hope they'll create some new shades soon.

If they ever get to New Zealand or Australia I'd definitely get a couple more.

  15. I wonder if they're sweat sensitive. The colors look really nice and I could use them for color guard performances, but if they sweat off easily, then it wouldn't be worth it! Would you know anything about that? Thanks!
